Grand Lake offers a variety of activities and events to occupy your leisure time - 

- Theater (Monday-Saturday/June-September)- enjoy one of the many theatrical productions brought to you by the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater (RMRT), a professional theater group with actors from all over the country

 

- July 4th Fireworks - one of Colorado's most popular fireworks display

 

- Western Week and Buffalo BBQ (usually mid-late July) - Musical entertainment, 5k run/walk, and a parade.  Check out the Grand Lake Chamber of Commerce website to find out exact dates.

 

- Wood Boat Show (mid-late July) - display of wooden boats (Chris Crafts etc.)

 

- Regatta/Lipton Cup Races (begins late July) - races around Grand Lake from the highest registered yacht anchorage in the world

 

-Turtle Races (mid August) - buy a turtle for charity and root him on

 

- Rocky Mountain National Park - enjoy this preserved masterpiece while spotting elk, moose, bear, and deer

 

- Hiking Trails - take yourself as far as you want to go, choose from a variety of trails to suit you - over 355 miles of trails within the national park alone

 

- Bicycle Trails - ride around at your leisure, or take the Winter Park-Fraser bike trail

 

- Local Library - a variety of books to choose from for a rainy day or a lazy afternoon

 

- Fishing - fish any of the local lakes, canals, or rivers - Rainbow Trout, Mackinaw, Brown, Kokanee Salmon, and Brook Trout

 

- Museums - Kauffman House (Grand Lake), Cozens Ranch House Museum (just outside Winter Park), Grand Country Museum (Hot Sulphur Springs)

 

- Tours - boat tours around Grand Lake throughout the day, and Grand Lake dinner tours in the evening

 

- Ghost Towns - Several of these abandoned mining towns, including Lu Lu City, are located in Rocky Mountain National Park

 

- Shopping - browse through many stores along Grand Lake's historic boardwalk, or travel to Winter Park for additional shops

 

- Boating - waterskiing, wakeboarding, paddle boats, boat rentals, swimming etc...

 

- ATV/Moped/Jetski Rentals - available from various local dealers

 

- Restaurants - enjoy a variety of restaurants along Grand Lake's boardwalk or journey to several other restaurants in the area including the historic Grand Lake Lodge which is located between the Park Entrance and the Grand Lake turnoff on Highway 34

 

- Horseback Rides - catch a breakfast ride, an evening hayride, or one of the numerous guided rides available during the day

 

- Tennis - test your game at the local courts

 

- Golf - choose from a few local courses including Pole Creek (rated best public course in America; 1985), Sol Vista near Granby, or the Grand Lake Golf Course

 

- Miniature Golf - putt-putt across from the park in downtown Grand Lake

 

- Rafting - schedule your next rafting trip at the local outfitter

 

- Bingo - Friday and Saturday nights in the park

 

- Bowling - set your target on a strike at the local bowling ally

 

- Paddle Boating - rent from the local marina, and put around Grand Lake

 

- Public Hot Springs - visit the historic hot springs to sooth your soul located at the west end of Hot Sulphur Springs
